Dear NAEYC friend,
As we continue to navigate the impacts of COVID to our communities, we are all working to better understand how child care programs manage limiting the spread of the virus while providing care. The Ziglar Center in Child Development at the Yale University School of Medicine is conducting an urgent study. of child care providers to help inform guidelines for safe reopening of programs. Your voice has been vital to the profession’s response to the pandemic and we continue to need your feedback as we plan a path forward.
This survey. is being sent to child care professionals like you across the nation. Your answers will be completely confidential. Many voices and experiences are needed as we try to determine the rate at which child care providers have become ill with COVID-19 symptoms and which strategies may have helped keep them safer. We need to hear from you whether you were open or closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a measure of thanks, Yale will randomly select at least 10 people who complete the online confidential survey to win a check for $500. Also, all participants will be invited to participate in a free online webinar to share the results and answer your questions.
We hope that you will help. Please click the link below to take the online survey. It should only take about 12-20 minutes to complete. More information and a brief consent page will be provided to you before the confidential online survey begins.
Start the SurveyYour response is needed urgently. Please complete the survey by Friday, May 29 to make sure your voice is heard.

Here are some updates and resources you may find helpful as we all navigate these uncharted waters.
I know that for many the COVID-19 event has created much stress and anxiety so I am sharing a piece from Tim Villegas below.
Also included in this communication are updates and resources. Enjoy!
COMMUNICATION:
Please take time to complete this survey. Buffet Early Childhood Survey

This information will then be shared with legislators and policymakers. The survey is 12 questions long and takes about 5 minutes to complete.
REMINDER:
Under orders from the Governor, all gatherings involving more than 10 people are now prohibited
between March 18 and April 30 in Cass, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington Counties.
- In regard to childcare facilities, childcare must be carried out in stable groups of 10 or fewer children; “stable” means that the same 10 or fewer children are in the same group each day.
